Travel assistants

An assistant who stays with the guest through the visit — bookings, queues, payments, pharmacy runs and the small problems nobody put in the itinerary.

An itinerary covers the planned parts of a trip. What it cannot cover is the hour lost to a pharmacy, a card that will not work, a restaurant that needs calling in the local language, or a guest who wants to change the afternoon at eleven in the morning.

A travel assistant absorbs that. They are not a guide and not a chauffeur — they are the person whose whole job is that your guest never has to solve a local problem in an unfamiliar system while tired.

Assistants are bilingual and work full-day or residential depending on the programme. For family travel, elderly guests, medical visits and long stays, this is usually the single most useful thing on the booking.

What the booking includes

  • Full-day or residential
  • Bilingual
  • Background-checked
  • Full-day or residential engagement
  • Bookings, queues, payments and errands
  • Local liaison in the language of the place
  • Continuity across the whole visit
  • Coordination with guides, chauffeurs and hotels

How it works

01

Tell us who the guest is

Family, executive, patient, film crew — the right assistant for each is a different person.

02

We assign for the whole visit

Continuity matters more than anything else here; a new assistant each day undoes the point.

03

They hold the day together

Working alongside whichever guides and vehicles are on the programme, so the guest deals with one person.

Questions

Is an assistant the same as a guide?

No. A guide interprets a place; an assistant handles the practical business of being in it. Groups often book both.

Can an assistant stay at the same hotel?

On residential engagements, yes, where the programme needs someone available outside working hours.

Is this useful for a short trip?

For a two-day executive visit, usually less so. For family travel, medical visits and long stays it is the most useful line on the booking.

Send us the dates. We will send back a plan.

Tell us where your guests land, how many of them there are and what has to happen while they are here. You will have a written movement plan and an itemised quotation back within one working day.
